Womack Recommended to be the Next Chairman of the House Budget Committee

WASHINGTON - Steve Womack today released the following statement after the House Republican Steering Committee recommended that he be named Chairman of the House Budget Committee: 

“I’m honored that my colleagues have put their trust in me to be the next Chairman of the House Budget Committee. Leading this Committee is a tough job and we have a lot on our agenda in the coming months, but I am ready for the challenge. I look forward to the tasks ahead as we work to put America on a sustainable fiscal path.”




Congressman Steve Womack was elected to represent Arkansas’s Third Congressional District in 2010 and sits on the House Appropriations Committee and the House Budget Committee.

Prior to his election to Congress, Congressman Womack served as the Mayor of Rogers, Arkansas, for twelve years and in the Arkansas Army National Guard for over thirty years, retiring at the rank of Colonel.

Steve has been married to his wife, Terri, for over 31 years, and they have three sons, two grandsons, and a dog named Cooper. - Read More
